Sony Open Device Project and the Xperia XA2 Ultra: The First Mainstream Devices with Android Oreo an

Sailfish OS is a Linux-based operating system based on free software, and open source projects such as Mer as well as including a closed source UI. The project is being developed by the Finnish company Jolla.

The Sailfish OS and the Sailfish software development kit (SDK) are based on the Linux kernel and Mer.[9][10][11] Sailfish OS includes a multi-tasking graphical shell called "Lipstick" built with Qt by Jolla on top of the Wayland display server protocol.[12] Jolla uses free and open-source graphics device drivers but the Hybris library allows use of proprietary drivers for Android.[13][14] Jolla's stated goal is for Sailfish to be open source eventually.[2][needs update?]

Sony Open Device Project and the Xperia XA2 Ultra….

Sailfish OS is promoted by Jolla and supported by the open Sailfish Alliance established in 2011, a group established to unite OEM and ODM manufacturers, chipset providers, operators, application developers and retailers.[73] On 16 August 2012, the user interface was reported to be ready for release. Jolla's CEO Jussi Hurmola stated in a ZDNet interview, " ... Our UI is ready now, we haven't released it yet, we will save it for the product launch and the platform is getting up now so the project looks pretty nice".[74]

Sailfish Alliance is the open alliance established in 2011 by Jolla company to support the MeeGo ecosystem with new products, services and business opportunities around or using Sailfish OS, a Linux operating system combining Mer with proprietary components from Jolla and other parties, for various purposes and mobile devices.

Maybe the XA has it, but I'm not holding my breath given how Imaging's awful camera stack cripples the phones. I've been a huge supporter of Sony Mobile especially because of their above-average support for open source projects - but now that I always run stock firmware, I'm starting to find more and more "customizations" that break the device as time goes on. I'm likely switching to Motorola soon. I know one of the guys that does AOSP work at Mobile, and Imaging's incompetence and arrogance has driven huge amounts of extra work for him.

The latest version of Sailfish OS is known as Sailfish X, which runs on Sony Xperia X devices. Unfortunately, Sailfish OS is not open source, and the free version is a time-limited trial. Many of the usual Linux-compatible phones run Sailfish OS, although development is focused on Sony Xperia X, Sony Xperia 10, and Gemini PDA devices.

The XA2 is in supported devices list too, i think i will come back to this project until a fix is published for Sailfish OS (i asked Jolla support for a refund i hope they will refund me because this issue with GPS is too critical for a smartphone)

Connect to PC > Pull down notifications menu > Click Touch for other USB options > Choose Built-in CD-ROM > The device opens on windows > Go to F:\USB Reference Manual\EN\ADB_Reference_Manual.txt and follow the instructions.

Windows:Now at least I found it on device manager listed under "Other devices" - for my Xperia Tablet Z it was SGP311 of course. Just unplug and plug back in, if you are not sure, which device it is. Go back to the sony drivers page:

Now it worked for me and the device is no longer listed under "other devices". Make sure to authorize your computer for debugging on the sony device.Just unlock the Sony Xperia and you will have to accept the prompt to pair with the computer.

Shutter speed is also known as exposure time and shows the time, during which the shutter of the camera is open while taking a photo. The longer the shutter is open, the more light reaches the sensor. Shutter speed is measured in seconds (i.e. 5, 2, 1) or in parts of a second (i.e. , 1/8, 1/8000). Unlike DSLR cameras which use mechanical shutters, mobile devices use electronic shutters. 2ff7e9595c
