Yes to both. The school matron wore a rubber apron when she gave enemas and her treatment couch was covered with a rubber sheet. As I have said elsewhere rubber and enemas, for me, go together like cheese and wine. These days it is a silicone bag and a warm towel on the bathroom floor.

My mother had a Red Rubber Apron she wore along with rubber gloves when she gave my sister and I Enemas she would have you lay on her lap while you got your full enema she would have her feet inside the bath tub. I wasn't lucky enough to have been given enemas as a child, I certainly could have done with a few as I suffered terribly from constipation. Therefore I missed the early days of rubber equipment and the joys of the smell and texture of it. I can certainly see the attraction because it takes one back to those days of nurses in their crisp uniforms protected by rubber aprons and rubber sheets on the bed. It is hardly surprising that children became imprinted with these memories that stay with them for life.
