Evidence-based arguments may be formed using: ● facts, data and statistics; and, ● personal experience and observation. The introduction of an essay in your paper is the first thing that you can do to show your ability to write a good essay. It sets the tone of the whole work, sets up the purpose of the work, gives you an idea about how to proceed with the essay by showing where it's going. This is what is taken into consideration if someone needs your acknowledgement in writing a good essay so it is important to include this in your introduction when writing an essay. The introduction should not be long if you are aiming for a high score on the argumentative essay section. The introduction should be long enough to present a solid introduction for your topic. It should also be short enough to not be a distraction from the overall purpose of the essay. A strong introduction can catch a reader's attention and make them continue reading it. This effectively leads the reader to finish reading the entire essay. The last thing you want is for someone to give up on reading your essay due to an uninteresting or unappealing introduction. So, it is important that you include something that will certainly capture someone's attention and keep him/her on track while reading your paper. ● An essay can contain the following parts, but the list is not to be used as a rigid guideline or checklist; ● Introduction; ● Main Essay; ● Conclusion; and, An argumentative essay requires that you show both your support for and your opposition to a given point.
